We would hastily add that God most certainly did not die, but rather that in Christ, He passed through death. With man, our physical death affects only our body; our soul and spirit do not simultaneously perish. So is it with the Lord Jesus. According to 1 Peter 3:18, while His physical body was dying, God was enlivening Him in His human spirit (Witness Lee, Economy, 55-57).
